Is there a limit of how long you have battery out before any programming has to be done? Does it re-learn just by pressing the fob several times?

Honestly not sure, though the battery does not need to be removed to transfer the electronics over into the new key fob.

However I would imagine it does not matter how long the battery is removed, if you do remove it for any length of time for some reason. Based solely off of my experience with many other key fobs on other vehicles.

Street Wolf, who did you take the key to have cut? I'm going to source out a locksmith. Not Walfart.

I did the same modification and took the key blank out of the fob to have it cut at an Ace Hardware. They cut the key ($2.99) and it opens the door, but won't turn the ignition. Now I have to either find a locksmith who can fix the cut key or get a new one (I already ordered 2 more off eBay in case). So just be wary of where you take it to get cut.

My only issue is trying to find out how to take apart the old fob. Please either tell/post photos of that!

Zach, it separates in two. Look at where you attached your key ring. See the indentation in the key body. Slip a flat blade screw driving directly into the indentation and gently pry until the case cracks open. Then, simply work the flat blade around the edge until fully open.

Damn, I got everything installed but the key doesn't want to "flip" out. I press the button and it releases the key but it doesn't swing out.

You have to get the spring in just right to get it to work. It's a little tricky and took me a couple tries before I got it. Basically the spring must be "wound up" before you put the two halves back together.
