Key question
I have a key question. I am looking at an already cut Range Rover key on e-bay. Could this be programmed to work with my Disco? The key blade is replaceable just like my Disco key.
Your disco is an 03. An 03 range rover has a different style key. You buy a used key and drive to the the LR dealer to have it coded and matched to your vehicle and all the dollar signs will be lit up for your arrival. My advice, a new key will be the way to go if you really need it. I have single keys for 2 of my vehicles.
Well, I have an original Disco remote key, and I engineered a flat key for my wife out of a blank that we had at work. I was just wondering if it could be made to work. I know the key stock is different, I was just wondering if the remote used the same frequencies.
I understand, the remote itself is for a disco II, so I do not see why it cannot be programmed and coded to match your vehicle.
Nevertheless, it is done at the LR dealership. I am not aware of a process to code key remotes for land Rovers on the aftermarket.
Maybe someone else can shed some light on this one.
