new fob with cut key is $250 at the stealership.

I found a new fob/blank key from RoverNorth on EBay for $75; the least I have seen elsewhere on eBay is $125 to $160.

your “local guy” wouldn’t happen to be in central KY?

Default Nonocom key programming

Why buy a new key fob, when using the nanocom, when you can find a used, good condition, key fob, and program vehicle BCU, with nanocom, to accept that used key? I have done it numerous times. Nonocom will program for BOTH NEW and USED key fobs. With the Hawkeye, you can program only for NEW key fobs, having bar code that comes with fob; can't program for used key fobs. Some say Hawkeye will program used fobs, but I tried repeatedly over long period of time, trying numerous methods, with no luck, so I seriously doubt such rumors that it is possible, Also, the Hawkeye maker, in England, told me that it WILL NOT program for used keys, so believe them.

I have a 2007 LR3 (D3) with 1 working FOB, 1 dead FOB and 1 brand new ebay FOB uncut and unprogrammed. Will be fixing the dead one with a new battery and case, getting the sidewinder key on the new one cut, then replacing the battery and case on the working one, then reprogramming the whole works with a GAP IIDTool BT. When this is all done (within a month I hope) will report back on the results and any problems encountered. Like my engine transplant efforts, there are a lot of confusing internet comments, but very few are real world results...

I got excited, looked up the tool, and then realized you posted about an LR3 in the D2 board.

Sorry! Am red-faced about posting in the D2 board, but the GAP IID Tool does many more things than my other OBDII tools, so perhaps someone else can chime in here. Again, sorry for posting in the wrong forum...

Edit: Just checked and the D2 does not seem to be a model the GAP IIDTool BT is compatible with, sorry about that...
