Default Knock sensor

First off i'd like to mention the help this forum has given me troubleshooting my disco. Here's a brief background, Bought my wife a 01 disco SE7 new in 3/01. After about 56K miles she ran over something on the fwy and put a huge hole in the pan..emptying all the oil and subsequently blowing the engine. Good news was that AAA covered the new motor expense!. Cut to march of this year and she rear ends someone and insurance totals the car. I buy it back for 1200 and buy a blown motor donor vehicle and do all the necessary work. It has 110k miles on the chassis now and about 53K on the motor. Thanks to the forum I got rid of the 3 amigos ( which i've lived with for 3 years!) put a 180 soft spring thermostat and added a ultragauge. Amazing how inaccurate the stock gauge is. Temps now never go above 208 and they used to hover in the 218-221. Grat mod for $50!
My question is this, I have a P0327 code ( left knock sensor) so I replaced the sensor and still get the code on the ultragauge. I unplugged the sensor and no change. How can I trace where the wires go from the sensor. I looked in the RAve but im not quite clear. One of the wires coming out of the sensor looks like it is attached to the main lead about 6" up. Does that sound right?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Ken

Down load a free copy of the Rave CD, shop manual and it will walk you thru it.

Here's two pages on the sensor. One on each side of block. Plug needs to be clean on the metal contacts, it uses a shielded cable to take the low voltage signal back to the ECU.
