I am in the middle of a 1998 Disco reclamation project.

While lounging under my vehicle and leisurely contemplating how many things I have to fix I found the passenger side knock sensor was obliterated and the cable harness was hanging.

I have yanked a knock sensor from a local bone yard and installed it. The connection to the sensor was straight forward but there is another short length of cable (~10") with a small connector.

I assumed it hooked up to something in the starter/solenoid area but have not noticed a spot to plug it in.

Where oh where does my lost wire harness go????

 

It goes on the top most part of the solenoid. Mine is a red wire (1996) I am trying to explain it as if you were laying under there looking at the end of the solenoid.. its the top connection.
