Default Lagging problem

1996 Disco, 87,000 miles. When I am at highway speed (65 to 70 mph) I get a hesitation or lagging. It only last for a few seconds but has happened more than once. When I am using cruise control it has never happened. It almost feels like it is stalling while running on the highway, I've never had it happen at any other driving condition. Has anyone ever run into this with their LR?

What sort of tune related work has been done on your truck, what octane gas are you running?

I'm running 90 octane and do annual tune ups along with regular oil changes. I haven't change the plug wires for a year but it had the same symptom after I changed them. It only happens once in a whild at highway speed. I just did the starter this weekend which was the worst one I have ever done. I consider myself a good mechanic and I would pay someone to do it next time.

You might want to clean the throttle body and do an engine decarboning, check all the vaccum lines for cracks including the PCV.

When was the last time you replaced your fuel filter?
