Well it's a mixture of marketing and truth. The prosport shocks included in his kit, TF133 and TF134 are indeed +3" shocks. However, Terrafirma does not offer a +3" or more spring. HOWEVER, if you are not heavily laden you WILL get around +3" with the TF052 and TF027v springs. They are designed to be +2" with an expedition equipped vehicle.

Well Christ, don't cover the RN sticker!

But seriously, Justin isn't trying to lie to anyone. What he sells can usually get a 3" lift for people. We sell it too, we just have a different number on it.

Good decision. However, forget the 18" wheels. If you're off-roading the more rubber between the wheel and the ground the better.

A lift has both pro's and con's.
The Pro's

Better off-road handling and suspension articulation.
More ground clearance under the differentials if combined with taller tires.
Easier to work on under vehicle
Better clearance in deep snow, mud etc..
Sometimes improves the on-road ride.
Most people think they look better.

The Con's

Poorer fuel mileage
May not fit in low clearance garages
Short people have hard time getting in.
PIA to work on engine
Increased driveline wear
Increased lean & sway on-road
Sluggish acceleration if combined with taller tires, unless you change gearing also
May not be legal in your state or draw attention from the police.
Expensive and it may not increase resale value

Hits the nail on it's head. I did an OME spring swap that gave me a 2-3 inch lift, forget what the before measurements were. Anyway, my wife cringes every time I insist on driving as she has short legs. I can't park in most commercial garages and some facilities have limited room if any for oversize vehicles (such as Bush Airport here in Houston). My gas mileage went down and I get hit harder by cross winds. I have a roof rack that I use to haul building materials on from time to time and it is a real act to get 4 sheets of plywood or drywall up there and get it secured!

But for offroading and the look of the vehicle it is what I wanted.

Absolutely do it. Disco's were meant to be lifted. I'm willing to bet your truck looks like a big golf cart right now on stock springs.
In my opinion it's a hell of a lot easier to work on the Disco with the 2 inch lift I have. Oil changes are a piece of cake and more visibility in general. But I'm 6'1 so the height is no problem. If you sell the truck and a buyer is pissed that you lifted it you should tell him to take a hike. A lifted Disco is always a plus and someone that hates it has got to be nothing but a douche Land Rover purist.
