Kreen is an aggressive solvent cleaner made for industrial engines by Kano Labs. Not really sold for DIY for on the road vehicle use. Could be it will solvent enouigh that you should take off oil pan and clean out pickup after a short use of it. Some say it will make things clean as a whistle, but all the internal sludge coating has to go somewhere.

Also, you have to consider if the solvent will play nice with gaskets and seals. Guys used to dump in a few quarts of Berrymans carb and parts cleaner, but you need to be prepared to do a rear main seal....

Sounds like my kind of snake oil.....

Now the slower proiducts like BG and such might also be a selection.

I didn't say I "believed" anyone. I said that's what he told me he used. I also in turn said I wasn't a fan of putting anything in my engine oil.

great care MUST be taken when choosing any of these product, you want something that will dissolve the sludge, not dislodge it.
A lot of these product are strong enough to dislodge the sludge but not dissolve it. This will lead to all kinds of problem be cause the dislodges pieces never get to the filter the get stuck in oil gallerys and oil pump pickup.

I would wonder how long the solvent + gunk stays in suspension, before some of it evaporates, and the material re-deposits ?
