Default Lifter oil hole

Does it matter which way the lifter/tappet oiling hole is facing when installed? I know there is a top/bottom difference but which way should the hole itself face? Thanks

The lifters rotate as the cam lifts them, so it won't matter as they will not be in the same place when you are done.

(or at least they SHOULD rotate, if they have worn in correctly).

That's what I thought because several of them were in different positions when I took them out to clean.
Thanks
