Default In-line t-stat mod bottom hose

What is everyone using for the bottom hose? I tried the Gates 22073 but wasn’t too happy with the fit.

Put it the other way around?

I just did the Extinct inline with that hose, and it's all good.
Almost thought I fudged it up as did not fit, but I turned it the other way round.
Don't have any photos of it (odd, I usually take lots of photos) and not near that D2 now..

Somewhere in this forum there is a part number for the lower hose that’s a perfect fit with the inline kit that removes the need for the splice. I think it was a Gates part number from RockAuto

The radiator outlet to the pump inlet in two pieces, a 'T' in the middle gives me a drain and the connection for the heater core and the reservoir hoses.

The perfect fit lower hose is Gates 22073 and here is the explanation:

I just used my original hose and the inline thermostat provided splice but I did replace my brittle plastic four-way connector with the aluminum one from carrs4x4.com

Here is my solution for the lower hose: Gates 22073 (thanks for the tip) and a sensor adapter (34mm, $10 Amazon). I cut it into two pieces and made them shorter. The sensor adapter makes it possible to rotate one of the hose pieces to make it align perfectly. This solution even allows to go under the coolant reservoir hose quite straight between the radiator and the coolant manifold.
