so im trying the EKA code stuff from the write up in the sticky section. but doing the first turn to unlock position and holding it for 5 seconds, i don't get the audible beep from the car like the instructions state i should. the single beep meaning the system is now ready to except the EKA code. so wondering what im doing wrong here? the LED light when the car is unlocked just blinks fast.

I just don't know. I've never had to do that. I bought mine new there (lr dallas). They aren't real friendly.

Best4x4 recommanded cycling the locks iwth the switch inside the vehicle. i did, then decided to unlock, while sitting in the passenger seat, i put the keys in the ignition and all the lights on the dash came on, then they all went out like normal and so i cranked the engine and it started right up. thanks everyone for the info. now just gotta get the door lock figured out. id really like to get the lock keyed to the ignition.

also, i do have a remote with my pile of keys the seller gave me, and one of the remotes still has buttons in tact and it lights up when hitting the buttons but does nothing to the car. so how tricky is it or expensive is it to get a remote to work with the car?

The dealership. But find someone with a Nanocom. There are a few members in the Dallas area who have them. They can sync any fob that has the right frequency (US version) with any Rover alarm (US version). Just post a thread called "need Nanocom help near Dallas"

Well here is the key cylinder and pins. U can see in the second photo the last pin broke in half and kept the lock from turning. had to push on the pin then i was able to turn the key. first photo i just removed the broken pin, now the lock turns fine in the door handle.

well as of now, i put the key lock back in the door handle and put the door handle back on the door and door is back together. so now i can lock and unlock with that same key again just fine. but will have to spend some time calling around to lock smiths that would be able to change the pins for me one day to the ignition key. i called up 2 or 3 yesterday and they all couldn't do it. LandRover wanted $200 for a new door handle that would match the key threw the VIN # on the car. Also going to try and get 2 of the 3 remotes i have paired with the car here some time soon. if i can find some one in Dallas with that Nanocom thing to help me do it that is. I wonder if TruckToys can pair remotes maybe?
