Hey all,

Anyone done this in a D2?

I have +2 inch lift, front and rear diff guards on new Wildpeak a/t 4w. No CDL though. Still, seems doable. Would love to hear anyone else's experience.

Dan

Have not ran it yet. Been on the list for a while now. What size tires? stock bumpers? I think without the CDL you may struggle quite a bit on the hard section from the photos I've seen. I would not take my D2 with a 2" lift and 265/75s on it as it has no armor or winch. Definitely would not run that alone in a d2 without a winch and a CDL minimum.

Hey @whowa004

Appreciate the thoughts. I have the same size tires as you, aftermarket bumpers, but no winch. There are a few rigs in the group with winches, but that doesnt completely solve it.

I had a similar thought around Waypoint 10 - is the TC sufficient without a CDL. I have made it over Pearl Pass, which is similarly rated, but Lockhart looks like a different beast.

I am also trying to compare brakeover and departure angles to other vehicles that are making it through. Am I correct that our brakeover angle is 28 deg, which is relatively good?

Can't say our breakover angle for certain. I can tell you I've yet to be high centered in any of my 3 rovers (stuck on diffs plenty of times sliding off a line), somewhat on line choice but also a d2 is only a 100" wheelbase which is roughly 15" shorter than say an 80 series LC if I'm not mistaken (my buddies makes my LWB classic look puny in terms of length...). If going in a group and someone has a winch and you have bumpers/sliders I'd 100% give it a shot but know you may need a tug strap or winch up if you slide off line trying to get TC to hook up. I ran wheelers lake on 265s (would not recommend that) and top of the world on them as well so they will take you plenty of places but rear bumper if stock would have been destroyed and same with front with the lower air dam.
