Long term fuel trim reset, Concerns with Key
Can anyone tell me If i remove the battery and connect the leads together to drain the Computers down/reset fuel trims Will i have issues with restarting.
I have only the physical key at the moment, I don't have the remote/plib thing Will my car immobilize or any other funkyness after a reset ?
Thanks.
Update
Battery disconnect didnt screw me/no crazy immobilizer business with me only having the physical key no remote, Also nothing i could do would reset long term fuel trim, Although after a 30 mile drive on top of my new fuel pump they dropped back down to a normal level.

My ltft reset just swapping a battery. No such thing as draining the CPU. Only thing that isn't stored in non powered memory is radio presets and AC default settings
Make sure the doors are all unlocked and alarm is not active before pulling the battery.
Also, I don't think a battery reset clears out your fuel trims on the D2. It is stored in long term memory

Guess ill do a bit of an experiment. Replacing my fuel pump so Im disconnecting the battery anyhow. Ill check the LTFT after Im finished. If it has not reset, Ill find a plan B or try the leads together for a bit.
