Default Looking to Buy an 04

I searched for something 04 specific but couldn't find a thread.
What are some of the things I should be looking at? Are the 2004 as finicky as 2003 (because I;ve read some things about the 2003's here)
Price, whats a good price for a 2004 Disco <60k miles (one is 33k, other is 45k)

I don't know much about cars but I'm mechanically inclined, so saying that would buying an older be better (I love the older design better) considering I'd be doing some troubleshooting
TIA
Kiran

Other than that, this will be first big car, I've had other cars, pretty much the whole spectrum starting from a 3000gt to a 550 maranello.

Careful what you pay for it and consider an extended warranty if it is A Rover warranty.

Nothing specific to the '04. Just make sure that you use premium gas, have the front driveshaft rebuilt using greasable u-joints and you will be fine.
Change the coolant every 2 years, same with the brake fluid.

Hello, Can you let me know how much the ones you are looking at are going for, I am trying to sell my 04 Disco SE w/ 44K miles in excellent condition. and haven't had much luck, I had it priced @ $14,900. I am curious if I am overpriced, or just haven't sold due to fear of high gas prices. Thanx, Frank, Indianapolis, IN FandLBates@aol.com

Price is too high... Somewhere closer to the $10k range would be much more realistic... I wouldnt expect anything more that that... I've sen some HSE7's go for that range...

www.edmunds.com is a good realalistic pricing tool.
I always compare www.edmunds.com, www.kbb.com and www.nada.com when ever I am car shopping, take the average of all three sites and go from there, I get a real good idea of what they are selling for and what they are actually worth.
But yeah, $15k is WAY to high.
