Default Looking to buy 04 Disco

I want to get an 04 Disco and get rid (maybe)of my 94. What should I look for in the 04 models? Any chronic problems yet? Thanks

Keep the 94 and buy a 04.

The 94 will bring almost nothing anymore as my 96, and you will have a back up for when the Hill/ trac/ ABS lights come on and its in the shop.

Now if that does not get any feedback,,,,,well,,,,,,[sm=chairshot.gif]

If you're not set on an '04 you can pick up a '00-01 for 1/3 the price.

The usual suspects- head gaskets, 3 amigos, and front driveshaft u-joints seem to be the perennial favorites across all of the D2 years, but the '04s are new enough that many are still under warranty, andfew owners have needed any forum help yet. I have had zero trouble with mine so far, but I've only had it since August of '07 and driven roughly 7,000 miles with it. From what I've learnedfrom 8 monthson the forums, the '04 is the best year of all for the Discovery.

One thing I really like is the center diff lock on the '04 models. I've used it a few times now and the thing is all but unstoppable. The 4.6 liter engine gives the truck enough power to satisfy and the low end torque makes it a real stump puller. It's easily the most capable off road vehicle I've ever owned.

04's for the most part were trouble free.
If you shop around, you can find an 04 in the $16,000 to $18,000 range and get them with the balance of the factory.
Go for it.

I agree, with the SUV market right now you aren't going to get anything for the 94 if you try to sell it. But the 04 is a good choice, some say its the best disco ever made. There are no huge problems with is besides the normal small glitches the DII's have, but if you get one with some milage on it most of that will be fixed already anyways.
