Looking to buy a LR Discovery - need help with questions
Hello,
I have been looking to buy a 2004 Land Rover Discovery and have some basic questions.
Rear AC Vents for 2004 -
Are all rear ac vents located on the roof?
If not, how do I know from the description where the location of the rear ac vents are? Different models, different years, etc.
I ask because I have seen pictures where it states rear AC but you can't see them on the roof.
SE7-
Does the 7 mean the 3rd row seats are optional or standard for this model?
Do all SE7's that have 3rd row seats have rear ac vents on the roof?
Thanks for looking and please reply if you can help answer any of these questions.

Heat vents going to the rear under the center console are standard.
The rear a/c vents are only in the ceiling. As spike stated, it's ONLY ac, no neat. It was an additional feature that was able to be added to any model, so you would have to ask the person if the vehicle specifically has air vents in the ceiling.
Some people consider the little vents coming out of the center console "rear a/c", so that's why some are listed as having "rear a/c".

the rear a/c vents are in the slant in the roof where it steps up, and there are two more (easier to see in pics) in the very back in the center of the roof. They bump down in a little console.
I thought the rear AC was a gimmick when I got my DII but I've totally fallen in love with them. Since there's actually an additional AC condenser in the back (and additional refrigerant capacity for the Discos equipped with the rear AC) it adds significant cooling "power" in the summer. People in the back (ie. even 2nd row) really need the upper vents on road trips in the summer.
Plus the dog absolutely LOVES having all 4 rear roof AC vents pointed down at her haha (well combined with the sunroofs and the panorama rear windows.. she ends up just staring at the ceiling lol)

That is so funny. I raise parrots and they will just love the views as well but probably panic when a truck passes us the first time in our new car.
I am going Wednesday to look at my first Land Rover. It's a 2004 and can't wait to see it. I have no idea what to look for as far as mechanical stuff. My requests were rear ac and low mileage. I had a dealer offer to look for me if I provided my particulars. He found exactly what I was asking for but I have not seen it yet.
I found pictures of this vehicle for sale from the previous dealer by the VIN. From the back view I could not see rear ac vents on the ceiling but my dealer confirmed today that this vehicle did indeed have rear ac vents. I have an excellent view of the ceiling from the rear and there are no black squares showing. So we'll see. Did Land Rover ever make ac vents on the back of the console instead of the ceilings?
Thanks again.
Megan
