Default Loose Cowel/hood for gage cluster??

Does anyone know how to fix a loose cowel/hood cover for the gage cluster on the steering column? Mine is loose and could be pulled off if it wasn’t for the connections on either side. Any help/tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys

Most likely its sun warped. Remove the 2 screws above the steering column surround and take a look.

I'm sure one of the used parts suppliers here can help though.

Have at it!

Check that the 2 mounting screws haven't broken through the cowl. It's easy to do if someone overtightened the screws.
If so then a screw with a washer will help, or fill the cowl holes with 2 part epoxy and redrill.

I used a couple drywall screws (really) and a couple finishing washers. Looks a little ghetto but it's a 19 year old truck approaching beater status. Lots of things look worse than the two screws no one notices.

Go for the expensive fix and add some black spray paint to the drywall screws and washers! Less noticeable, but It ups the repair price to the $5 range. LOL! Seriously, the screws and washers are the ticket!

When you pull the cover off be extra careful. There are two tabs at the front (of vehicle) that engage plastic on the cover. If you break the plastic it is a slow, twisting death for the cover.
