Default Gage cluster question

I have access to pulling a cluster out of a 2003 Discovery. Will this work in my 2000? The 2003 is far more appealing to the eye. If this would work I am going to go back and get that as well.

I pulled the black carpet and had it professionally cleaned then did the black carpet swap. Much nicer then the tan carpet I had. Matches my charcoal Micro suede headliner very nicely.

Thanks in advance.

Your wallet will be emptied by the dealer or shop with advanced computer (more than a scanner) - the swapped cluster will flash the odometer until the truck is re-programmed.

You would also want to open up your copy of the RAVE, and look in the circuits manuals, under "Instruments", to see if each connector to the cluster is same color wire from same device. There are circuits manuals for the different years.

What would look better is a $69 Ultra Gauge. The heat gauge in either cluster allows you to drive around at 230F thing everything is rock solid 50% normal.

I don't believe the connections are the same between the older D2 clusters and a 03 or 04.

I think street wolf swapped an 03-04 into his 99-02 disco... I think. Anyway, as Savannah mentioned, the odo will blink. Also if the truck has ACE or whatever there might be some other opportunities as far as programming the cluster goes.

You can only make the numbers on the odometer (or BCU) go UP... so if the truck has higher miles than your's you will never be able to sync it correctly, if that bothers you. You can make it stop blinking with the correct tools though.

HMMMM. I do not have ACE. I could care less what the mileage says, but the ODO is less then mine.

You may get real tired of the flashing odometer.
