Losing coolant but the reservoir tank stays full?

Default Losing coolant but the reservoir tank stays full?

Pretty sure I have another blown head gasket because I'm losing a lot of coolant. I'm getting the waterfall behind the dash every few days and have to add several pints of fluid via the bleed screw in the T. However, the reservoir always stays full. Is this an indication of a bad thermostat, or is there another possibility?

Sounds like air. If your tank is full leave it or try bleeding it properly

Yes, there is absolutely air in the system. That's what is responsible for the waterfall, and that's what I'm displacing when I'm pouring in the coolant. But with the amount of fluid I'm adding the level in the reservoir should be going down a bit, even if there are air pockets still remaining fterwards. But it's not going down at all.

If the system is pressurized from combustion gas in the coolant system then the level might stay higher,but... once it cools you should see a drop in the level.

maybe you have a clogged hose going to/from the tank?

The system is pressurising and when I fill via the bleed screw it starts to drip from the overflow pipe on the reservoir. I will check the other hoses going to the reservoir though.

Why are you filling it via the bleed screw. Just fill the tank to the cold position bleed it and drive it. Monitor your temps

The tank is full. The system is not. Adding more to the tank would literally just be pouring it on the ground.
