Cool thanks for the tip. I am breaking down and buying a used pump. I am then going to fiddle around with by old pump and hopefully have a backup.

Any one have some good tips on how to get a broken bolt out? Its the power steering bolt thats in the top center position on the front. I got the pulley off and took the two bolts off the sides and noticed that the one in the center was broken off. It looks like someone really fiddled with it too as the sleeve lip is completely mangled. The problem is lack of space. I can't really get a drill in between the pump and radiator.

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Also, does anyone have a link to the repair manual? I have one bookmarked, but it doesn't want to load anymore. It used to, but now it doesn't. I am looking for the pdf version...Thanks

You mean the one in the center of the pump that is connected to the block and usually has a nut on it? Or you are talking about one of the actual bolts?

Default i replaced my pump today and know what your going through

Did you take your fan off--just curious--it was really hard getting the pump back in the housing. i finally got it back in and as i was bolting the housing to the engine one of the bolts was rubbing against the bracket that goes behind the housing. You should be able to take that stud out with some strong vise grips. How did you stop the pulley from spinnning to get 20 lbs on it. I am having trouble

To torque up pulleys I usually use 2 wrenches, it can be annoying but it works.

Yea, one of the bolts directly behind the pulley. Its still giving me hell. I got a 90 degree drill and have been able to get it back there, but not much success drilling. The damn thing is harder than the hubs of hell. I just bought some cobalt bits. See how those work...

And yes, I did take the pulley off. I just used two wrenches. Break them all loose first. The last one is the trick as you end up tightening it. I took my belt off and wrapped it around the pulley. It provided enough grip to get that last nut to turn...
