Very interested in any replies this point as well...I have a D2 within the "death range"...I know the TSB says the only real fix is an engine replacement, but wondering if there's a way to keep it cobbled together with replacement pumps.

Noob explanation please!

To change the pump you have to pull out the engine. Why stick the same old engine back in without at least a rebuild? Get it done proper the first time and you only have to pay once.

I've heard that you cant rebuild the bad blocks, there manufactured wrong, correct or no?

A new Block (used) is around $5000, that why not replace the whole thing.
