This is interesting. Do you think the oil pressure switch was faulty, or the action of swapping it out fixed the issue with actual oil pressure?

Good job getting it done.

I'm guessing the switch was actually faulty. I got the front cover cleaned and the switch was left in while it got washed. When I took the old switch out, it didn't look to bad.

It was either $45 for a oil pressure test kit, or $11 for the switch. So I decided to go with the switch.

Had to remove the alternator and bracket, and then I could squeeze a 15/16th deep socket onto the plug to remove it.

the switch probably got a swig of that synthetic grease, it is a very small orifice in the oil pressure switch. it is a common problem when people try to flush there engines, only takes a spec of the grim to block the oil pressure switch. all is good now?

Probably right. The switch had a good bit of gunk on/in it.

And yes! Drove it on the interstate yesterday back home. Ran like a champ. Still have a light exhaust leak on the passenger side (some gargling) and my SRS light came on.

The SRS is mostly cause the car hasn't been driven in over a month and as soon as I moved my seat, the light popped on. Going to clean the seat belt switch under the seats later today.
