Default Lucky8 Driveshaft install

Big thanks to redwhitekat for hooking me up with a Lucky8 driveshaft this week. Despite being a million degrees outside this morning I decided to install it this 4th o' July holiday. There's certainly something to be said for not having to jack up your vehicle when doing a driveshaft swap! The job went without issue however I have a question about the shaft itself. Actually a couple questions.

First, is the single zerk in the center of the front u-joint a factory setup? I was under the impression that the factory shaft had no zerk fittings and therefore would blow up and flail your transmission to bits. Does the presence of that zerk mean mine was upgraded by the PO at some point?

Secondly, are the Lucky8 shafts greased from the "factory"? I put a grease gun to all the zerks but wasn't able to get anything to come out of the joints. I don't plan on putting 1000 miles on it before they reopen tomorrow morning and I can ask them directly, but I figured one of you guys would know.

Thanks again redwhitekat, much appreciated.

The single zerk on the shaft is stock. It’s the 2 zerks on the u joints at the rear position that are upgraded. They come greased, but I always pump some more in there. Do the U joints and you will get grease to push out.

Installed the same part a few months ago.

The shaft is pre-greased as was confirmed by Lucky8. However, don't take a chance and always verify. Get a grease gun, fit the zerk fitting over the nipple and press it really tight--newer nipples may be a bit tough to open. Pump grease until you see it coming out from U-Joints. Do it every oil change. Also, your rear shaft has a zerk fitting too, so don't forget to grease it.
