Post M and S green lights after transmission swap.

I have just had my transmission changed out on my 2002 DII. My mechanic called and said that the M and S green lights are flashing and it seems to be stuck in limp home mode. Does there need to be a reset done on the ECU or something?

Thanks for the help!

Let your mechanic deal with this, there is nothing to be reset other then your tranny is in limp mode. You should have a check engine light on, have him check that and also the charging system to make sure you are putting out 13.6 plus volts under load.

And... if there is no CEL, but M&S are on, that indicates tranny computer detects battery volts at 9 or less. So it can be a loose ground, bad battery, etc.

Did he leave the xyz switch unhooked? Or maybe had the switch off and now it's out of adjustment?

Does your mechanic have land rover aware diagnostic computers? He should be able to read codes from the tcm if so. Might even be able to with some of the nicer stuff like snap-on, etc.

The XYZ switch on the "new" transmission is bad, swap your old know working one for the "new" one.
