Is trans in limp mode? Do you have a scanner to check codes? There's much info if you do a search of D2 section.

not sure if the transmission went into limp mode.
was out driving around with no issues, got somewhere, parked the truck for few hours. Time to leave and started driving when i saw the lights flashing!
Pulled over, tried the button for the S on the shift and nothing.
Turned off the truck several times and still flashing.
Waited about 20 mins and started the truck, no flashing.
Just made it home and really concern now. No Codes

D2 will not implode so don't be too concerned. Could have been a spurious fault if gone now. S&M lights often the result of low battery voltage. If you have a meter check your battery to make sure it's close to fully charged after not running for at least a couple of hours.

Get a multimeter and test the battery.

First, check the voltage without starting the car. It should be something around 12.7v. If it's significantly under that, it's either a bad battery or it's not properly getting charged by the alternator.

Second, check for a parasitic draw on the battery (i.e. test for if there's something drawing power from the battery while it's off). To do this, follow these steps, basically putting the multimeter in series with the negative terminal and testing for current: How to Find and Stop Car Battery Drains ? DIY Car Battery Drain. If you have a large draw, troubleshoot where it's coming from and eliminate it.

Third, Turn the car on and check your voltage. It should be 14v+. Follow the instructions here:
. Get a new alternator if you find out yours doesn't work properly.

If the battery checks out, it's grounded properly and the alternator is good, it could be your XYZ switch.

Or it could be one of those random things that never returns.

Low voltage is indeed a very common cause of the M&S lights and XYZ is a distant second, but there are something like 14 different faults that can trigger them so if the battery and alternator check out okay it would be best to get the transmission codes read.

I know you said there were no codes but unless you have a higher-end scanner it likely doesn't read trans codes. Or ABS codes. It likely reads engine management codes only.

Check your battery connections as well. I get that every once in a while as I have bad connections.
