M&S lights flashing and limp mode, is 13.4 volts at the battery when running enough?

It was 10 years ago but I'm still pissed. Hahaha. Never forget!

The shop went out of business before I could burn it down!

I was also a victim of the M & S lights flashing. Mine would typically only flash when shifting from Reverse to Drive. I changed the battery, no good. It would sometimes go days without a problem and then all of a sudden just start flashing. I finally decided to go with the neutral safety switch replacement (old one was all corroded) and it seems to be good as new.

Sorry for overlooking this before. P0705 is "Gear position switch,
incorrect outputs." I would still, however, ensure good voltage (i.e. 13.6+ volts) before replacing the XYZ switch.

I ordered an alternator earlier today.

I've also been having M&S issues. My voltage while running was 14.2. I also cleaned up the terminals and replaced the negative one for good measure. I'm now replacing the XYZ, based on a shop's advice. It sounds likely to be an alternator issue for you, given those voltage readings.

Default Update: Alternator replaced,....seems to have fixed it.

Ordered a reman Bosch unit out of CA. $140,....shipping included and no core charge / exchange. got the alternator installed, 14.2 volts now,......about a 5 mile drive,.....problems seems to be fixed.
