Have you tried using a torch on it. A little heat can do wonders, sometimes.

 

I finally got it out. Worked it back and forth and just about got a hernia but it came. 😂

 

You don't need it, I never put them back in.

 

Doesn't something mount on that stud? I don't recall the specifics; it's been 12 years since I replaced the headgaskets on my truck.

 

It is one of four bolts that holds the PS bracket on and one of three for the ps pump. With that on you cannot remove the PS pump without removing the entire bracket. I lose the stud and then I can change a PS pump in about 10 minutes without disturbing the ac comp or the rad shroud. Stupid ****ing engineers at LR.

wes_in_va needed to get it out to be able to put that cylinder head on Bank 2, but I understand why he doesn't need to reinstall it on the Bank 1 head.

 

I think I'll go about the installation of all the stuff without that stud and see how it goes. Might as well make life easier down the road if I can.

 

That stud is just plan stupid.
