Got a new xyz switch from rover land parts for $125. Dealer installed it for $293. Problem solved, runs great.

And yes, the guy only told me and read exactly what the machine told him. Parrots I say. Sucks that I need a new alt though...any tips on best value?

Just do not buy a rebuilt one, AutoZone and Advanced Auto both sell new ones.
Otherwise get a used one.
