What year is your truck, how many miles on it and do you have a check engine light on, if so what fault codes are you getting?
Most failing MAF's cause both banks to run lean not rich.
Before you do any more parts lets talk about the exact fault codes and go from there. By the way, if the MAF is bad, Rover will, once verified, replace it if need be under their one year parts warranty.

Well one code that came up as soon as I turn the CEL off it comes back on and it shows this code P1884 which I do not know what it is.
Then after a day or two of clearing the CELthese codes pop up, it will show two different banks (cyl 1&2 or 7&8 etc.)runningrich. Two different banks every other time so not consistent, it shows mass air rich code which I don't know what number it was. The only thing I did different when it started triggering these codes where to put in a new mass air which was a ebay bought one but he says he is going to check it and refund or replace it now so I will see how that goes. I also put in a dry filter cone intake but removed it and put the factory air box on and it still does all the same CEL and runs the same with the stock air box so all I know was mass air maybe?

Not calling you dumb, but did you put the MAF on the correct way? The air must flow the way it is shown on the exterior of it.

Yea it will only plug in one way as the MAF wire is to short to even install it wrong and the clips for the air box will only let you put it on the correct way. But yea I did and I forgot to mention its a 99 Disco 2 with 125K
