mess free oil change??
I was changing the transmission filter this weekend and it all was going PERFECTLY. Not a drop on the ground. I started to fill the trans and got in a couple quarts then saw a drop or two come out. Stopped filling and started the truck. Continued to fill a few more quarts and saw another couple drops come out. Ran through the gears a couple times. Then proceeded to keep filling and saw a few drops come out. Now, i figured I am done, so I pull out the little hose that goes from the little pump I am using, into the transmission fill hole. ATF then starts pouring out of the fill hole like a damn fire hydrant. At least a quart came out, and straight onto the driveway. It seems the little hose on my cheap pump was a little to big and created a nice seal in the fill hole, so I never saw the overflow trickle as I should have.
What a damn mess that was to cleanup. Need to get a little smaller tube for next time. And damn, that Lucas stuff is thick and a real PIA to pump.
