Default This might be a dumb question but I'm a noob.

Didn't get a manual with my recent purchase of a 2000 disco 2. I was wondering about the mode button on the gear box, what does that do? When pressed it displays an "s" on the display. I'm guessing that means sport mode? Also in that mode does it decrease gas milage?

Thanks.

It just extends the shift points. It probably will decrease the MPG, but it's starts so low anyway, you might not notice. If you are in low range, it puts the transmission in manual mode.

If you download the rave manual, you can get a PDF of owner's manual, starting at 2000 or 2001 I think.

Download the file with the large warning.

Yeah, puts it in Sport mode or manual mode. Sport mode is only good for passing on the freeway. I wouldn't run it full time cause it kills MPG. Feels a little quicker, but not by much.
