Default this might be stupid but...

How hard would it be to fit a Crown Vic motor in a Disco 2 since mine is an 03 owned by Ford...so on and on. Just a thought they are both 4.6L motors...jusht an idea

not so easy, anything is possible though! I must ask, what is wrong with your current engine? If you were to make a change why would you stick another petrol engine in it? Why not diesel?

Love those cars.... nice big engine, very comfortable drive but utterly useless for a 2 wheel drive V8 when you can even get up a minor incline in the winter....... I used to own a 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis (identical sister to Crown Vic) and loved it. But I love my AWD DII better hehe

Very interesting though regarding the engine swap though. And if what everyone is saying is true, it would seem that in some states you will have a hard time getting your vehicle registered inspected if you swap it from a petrol to diesel...

The Crown Vic police package is prized by the taxi cab fleets, they buy them up at auction and keep piling on the miles, 300K plus is quite common. But with enough money, any engine transplant is possible. The money equation does not balance, and frequently you could just buy another used Disco for what would go into a swap. I think guys "discover" they would rather put money into fun things like honkin' roof racks, tires, snorkles, six more Hella lights, etc.

Might want to look over Chevy V8 into a Series Land Rover 109 for a chevy v8 into old Landy conversion and all that awaits you.

And review https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...e2/#post324853 .

Just because Ford owned Rover around then, does not mean it was a Ford engine. It's a Rover V8 POS.

And a highly prized V8 by the rowdy lads that stuff them into small English sports cars and such.
