Default Misfire on Cylinder 1. I guess replace the engine?

Jokes. lol. Got a P0300 and 0301 yesterday, swapped spark plugs with Cylinder 2. P0301 still shows. Put a new wire on Cylinder 1, P0301 still shows. So I'm left with either... fuel injector, which seems unlikely? Or coil pack, but I thought if those fail they fail in pairs.

Either way, I coincidentally ordered a good, used coil pack to keep as a roadside emergency spare that arrives next week. I have the coils relocated, so easy to swap.

Anything else I should be considering?

Alrighty, follow up time! Napa down the street happened to have a MiChina coil pack for $130. Picked it up, installed, and all is well so far. The idle smoothed out from the previous chunky pattern back to the normal smooth idle. I guess coil packs don't fail in cylinder pairs?

Now... do I order nicer coil packs or just roll with these for now?

Just roll with it. BTW, you know you can swap coil packs left to right to test single misfires right? Also, failing coil packs usually start with one cylinder failing and then progress to both on the siamese before finally taking out all four.

I relocated mine after replacing with a cheap one. That way if something goes wrong again, it's super quick to replace. But going on 2 years now and so far this cheapy one ok. But you never know haha

Ah noted, I didn't realize that, thanks for the heads up! These OG coil packs had 205K on them and spent most of their life back behind the engine, so probably were about due anyway haha.
