Default Missing window channels

Just bought by first Rover-- '01 Disco II. I'm currently running through Disco Mike's suggested maintenance and I noticed I'm missing part of the window channel on both sides for the rear doors.

Is that all one piece? I have the front portion and the top, but the rear part isn't there. Seems strange that it's gone from both doors. Looks like some water has been getting in during heavy rains.

Replacements are $60 for each side from the dealer. Anyone have any alternatives?

Might contact some of the parts guys (dismantlers - links below), or look at some of the on-line places like Rovers North, etc.

Are you talking about the window fuzzy? The soft rubberish piece the window slides in?

I had the same problem, mine though were stuffed down the inside of the door...

When we would drive the air would make allot of noise as it came in through the rear part of the window...

I looked and noticed the window fuzzy at the base of the channel, I pulled on it and it came out so I kept pulling and it came all the way up, I used a little of "the right stuff" and glued it back into place...the fuzzies are now stuck to the channel.

I too am in need of those fuzzy things that sit in the channel, but every parts source I ask does not have them or confuses what i am asking for. Anyone have a lead on them or what they are called by LR?

Yeah, those fuzzies are called window channels.

Thanks guys, I'll check in the bottom of the door panel.

They could very well be down in the door a bit...
