Hey guys,
Just wanted to let everyone know that Advanced Auto has Mobil 1 on sale. You get 5 quarts of any Mobil 1 motor oil and any mobil 1 oil filter (go with M1-301) for $26. I bought their stock out this morning. Good Roving!

Yeah I did the same thing when the Pep Boys in my area closed, I bought enough for 2.5 oil changes, that was all they had in my weight so I bought them out, under $4 per quart.

I just got back from Advanced Auto,
got 3 full sets of Mobil 1, the High Mileage version, 3 of the M1-301 extra large filters and what a deal. I had to buy 1 extra quart of oil and saved over $18 an oil change.I hope more of you take advantage of this sale that lasts thru May.

Thanks for the heads-up, I got some 15w-50 for summer and 0w-40 for winter. I should be set for the next year. Make sure you get the 1 qt bottles, the deals no good with the 4 qt jugs.

Is Mobil-1 OK for high mileage vehicles 175,000, that have some drips? I would like to switch to synthetic, but am concerned about increased leakage.

It should be fine, I started using full syn in my 270,000 mile Mercedes with a small leak and noticed no difference in leakage. You may want to do a short interval the first time because they tend to loosen up crud in there (or maybe even better an ATF flush).

You'll be fine, it may leak more at first, but once the engine gets used to full synthetic it will slow if not stop leaking.
Also full synthetic will clean the crud out of the engine.
