Mobile 1 high mileage oil?
It is my understanding that oils that CJ4 and CI4 plus have zinc and the others do
not.
Diesel oil is cutting back on the amount of zinc due to all diesels now having Cats.
I have seen this on my oil for my VW diesel but with the setup it has it does not matter.
I have spent a good deal of money on a motor for my Disco and was told by the person that did the work that with the cam and lifter setup zinc additive would help.
He stopped short of saying that it was needed to insure the life of the cam and lifters.
not.

I wouldn't put any additives in motor oil. Most diesel oils have 1100-1200 ZDDP.
M1 15w50 has 1200, M1 high mileage 10w40 has 1000-1100. Just go to the oil websites and look up the specification sheets. Some tell you some don't. You can also go on bobistheoilguy.com and look up oil under the Oil analysis section.

Brake fluid breaks down? I though it would be good forever if it weren't for the dirt/rust is picks up from the system and especially the water, being that its hygroscopic. Does it have some sort of additives to break down in it?
Thanks for the insight Spike and Jupiter. I will take the black oil as a good sign of cleansing and hopefully notice it get lighter in color with more changes at 5kmile intervals. I have used the Coopers' brand oil filters from AB on my last two oil changes. 1st was FRAM, 2nd and 3rd was Coopers, next M1-301.
Now i just need to figure out a way to break into the refinery and steal oil.
Spike, according to fedex.com it would cost around $116 for a 8lbs package with $24 commodity value via FedEx International Economy®. my zip is 00820. It is a lost cause shipping oil my way. USPS is the way i ship parts from AB. That is a good method. Anything else and I have to use a freight forwarder.

Also, some oils just have a natural dark color to them once they heat up and cool down a few times. Royal Purple is a very dark oil to begin with, while shell rotella 5w40 is a very light colored oil.
Thats why LR recommends a brake fluid flush every 24 months or 24,000 miles, whichever is sooner.
Add to that the fact that brake fluid is corrosive and lack of maintence on brake fluid will shorten the life of ABS modulators and brake calipers too.
Brake fluid cannot be recycled, it cannot be mixed with used motor oil, it must be incinerated or disposed of in a class "D" land fill.
So if you have old brake fluid laying around use it to start your brush pile on fire or to burn that old stump out of the ground.

Pure One by Purolator has been consistently rated as the #1 oil filter with the Mobil 1 filter a close second.
The Mobil 1 is $12 the Pure One is $6.
