I'd say instead of dealing with the SRS light just replace with coils and have it disabled. Then you'll never have to worry about replacing air bags again! It boggles my mind as to why Land Rover thought it a good idea. I mean coils are not that much worse a ride and they feel like feather pillows compared to my Dad's Series IIA leafs .

Truck has coils on it, no air bags...

Things I have learned so far from the Head gasket replacement.

The radiator is brand new. Not even dirty, and is the dealer part. I guess when the HG started to fail they replaced it thinking the rising temp was and issue with the rad?

The tie-rods are new. But the ball joints are shot. (both uppers and lowers on both sides, rubber boots completely crapped out.)

Some idiot tried to take a finger full of silicon and put it alongside the leaking HG... missing the actual leak entirely...

The HG's had been done at some point before. Gasket was is good shape BUT for a failed section in the front drivers one of about an 1/4 inch.

The Heads have been replaced at some point. Most likely during the last HG job.

So far, I have the following codes on the Ultra gauge.
P0171
P0134
P1590 (and the 3 Amigos)

Check engine light relit after about 37 miles. I really think the truck might have a plugged cat.

Took truck and changed oil and trans fluid today. I added some of that Torque converter shudder stop... (ya I know) But it did seem to make a difference and if I can hold off having to drop the trans for a bit while I work out some of the other issue that would be great.

Can't find a local shop with a ABS reader that actually has land rover in the settings.

Does your transmission or torque converter shudder when you are just starting off from a stop light giving it very very little gas?

That is what mine does.
If I drive aggressively I can't feel a shudder.

Disturbing to say the least.

Here is how to fix the first two codes:

P0171 Bank 1 too lean - this may be due to the O2 sensor going bad

P0134 - O2 sensor is going bad.

Bank 1 is on the driver's side (USA) near cylinder #1.
Replace the front O2 sensor.

It will probably fix the P0171 code too. You could add some injector cleaner as a good measure.

Ya, Thats also the side the HG leak was on. That whole side of the engine was literally caked in grime and antifreeze. I ran out and cleaned the electrical connector for now, and will see if that helps. But the truck is due for O2's anyway.

As to the injector cleaner, I cleaned the injectors when i had them out for the HG job.

So, couple hundred miles on the new HG's, Have the Ultra Gauge installed in it's new permeant location (I used velcro and mounted it on top of the shifter diagram in the center column. It has the correct angle to see it there, almost looks like it belongs there and was easy to tuck the extra wire inside the lower dash access panel)

Trucks running a solid 195F with A/C on, It's 92 out today with humidity it feels like (realfeel) 102. So I'm happy with that running temp.

Have the gauge scanning live data off the O2 sensors, and sure enough, bank 1 sensor 1 is bad. (.02 is the highest it ever read) So I'll have to order a set of new fronts to stick in. The rears don't effect anything and are not coding so I'll leave them for now.
