Default More 04 Pre-Purchase Questions

If you were to buy an all-original 04 with no history of what's been replaced, what regiment of mods or replacement parts would you do to make it 'last', or be more reliable? I guess I've read, things like Head Gaskets, studs, thermostat, electric fan and so on. What would the rest of the list look like for the engine AND the body? I'm not talking about trail mods, but just mods to circumvent 'surprises' by performing proactive mods in advance.

Thanks,

what drowssap said. I might add a spare set of rear suspension air bags to that. My air bags leaked when I bought mine so I replaced with brand new ones on both sides. One exploded about 3 months later but luckily was close to home so drove it the 1 mile home until I got replacement under warranty. About 6 months later the other side exploded while on a minor trial getting to a camping spot. That was about an hour from home. Limped it to a spot a tow truck could tow it home. At that time I switch to coil springs. If I daily drove mine I would want the air suspension but would carry a spare bag or two just to be safe but since I dont drive it much the ride isnt that much worse to care about.

I wouldn't. I would buy one that blew a headgasket and drop in a tophatted motor.
