In order of appearance:
-throttle body plate
-upper T-junction hose
-heater core couplings
-radiator reservoir cap
-and now radiator itself.

Each time I have the entire cooling system checked out and they can never find anything else potentially wrong.... Until 6 hours or so after picking it up when I'm miles from home.
You checked for extra pressure from exhaust gases?

That has been one of my concerns. It would certainly be a symptom.
I'll ask the shop to see if they can do a pressure test.

This test for gas. Cold pressure test may not show that.

Thanks guys!
I'll try that test. Found the kit on the internet.
This was actually the vehicle being taken away to the shop, but it had arrived the same way a few days before.

Should have it back by Tuesday.
I want to take it on an excursion next weekend to the Red River to find a lost Chisholm trail ghost town... But I'm a little more apprehensive about using it now.
We'll see how it does this week I guess.

if the head gaskets have not been done then thats the issue. they always blow them. now some moron is probably going to say how they or a friend has not had a problem............. but trust me, they all blow on these vehicles. the good part is that the trucks are straight forward to work on. (well except for the heater core) anyway, the head gasket deal is not a bad job just time consuming. make sure to have the heads shaved not checked or some bs like that. shaved. i have had a ton of issues with this truck, but now that i got her all fixed up it aint so bad.

It would appear that blown head gaskets and overheating in the V8's is inevitable sooner or later...........................bit like sunroof leaks......................it's just a matter of time and patience......................but it's guaranteed it will happen at some point in time.
