Default My Mechanic Bricked My 2001 Land Rover Discovery 2

The title says it all….

I took my disco in to get a key reprogramed. During the process, the mechanic messed something up and now the car will not start.

It will turn on but when moving the key to the start position nothing happens.

Is there anything that I can do?

Sounds like he needs to go thru the BCM settings and verify settings. Also is the red light flashing like crazy when you try to start it?

Hi. Welcome to the forum. I see this is your first post. At the risk of stating the obvious, isn't this a problem for the mechanic to solve?

Also, where are you located? If the mechanic bombs out and you are near a forum member with a more advanced diagnostic tool, one of us may be able to help you get back up and running.

get your mechanic to fix it, or have him pay for another mechanic to fix it

^ This. He messed up, carries insurance for this reason. If he can't figure it out then he needs to do his due diligence to have it sent to the most reputable land rover shop and cover the cost of them unbricking it.

Completely agree about the mechanic. I'm working that angle as well

@Best4x4 I will check what the light is doing tomorrow when I have a "nice" conversation with the mechanic tomorrow

The light just flashes at a slow pace. I have also tried the eka process with no luck. I got the number from the BCM
