the rover is in for the 2.5 engine rebuild.

the mechanic skipped the cam bearings the first time, and i still had the noise. then i threw a new top end in it and it still had the noise and barley any oil pressure.

so i brought it back the third time for another rebuild under warrenty and they he burned it

That sounds like the mechanic was just frustrated. Sometimes they do that just to create more garage space.

Sounds like he was tired of working for free.

So, let me get this straight...

If you can't fix 'em, burn 'em?

rofl
this insurance talk is funny.
i had liability only on my ///M5, full coverage would have been $200/month more (in dubai), so i just got liability.
on my disco, full coverage was $15/month more, so i got that, plus my gf is a driver on it, so peace in mind.
but on a $7k vehicle, there is no need for full coverage, unless it makes you feel better knowing you have it.

So you have $7,000 sitting in the bank to repair/replace your car huh?

I have full coverage because I dont have the money to repair/replace my truck if something were to happen.
So I pay the extra money to have it fully insured, this includes full glass and towing.

If they total it you can buy it back, how much is up to them.

I am betting they total it.
