My observation as well. It definitely holds a lower temp longer at idle.

Yep more heat placed in front of the radiator. It's only a few F's difference, but just something I noticed between 99-02 & 03-04's. I'm a true fan of the the Britpart 180F thermostat.

Oil capacities are the same yes???

Where is half your oil when you have a cooler?

My motorad sits at 206.6 at idle....forever.stepping on the gas goes down...203, then 197.

This is the temp at the sending unit, not the stat...
Which means, the temps at the stat are probably close to 195....and I only have a 2 degree variance. Healthy cooling system.

Day 2, another bleed, same temps. I don't think there's any air left

Overall, the britpart 180 is a no brainer, same (or better) temps than the genuine grey, at 1/3rd the price

I ran my 04 without the front grill to see if more airflow helped to lower temps. Not sure that I can say that it did much good. Still need to do some runs same day/time with/without to see of it makes sense to modify the grill with mesh in place of middle grill bar. I am using a LR 180 t-stat.

You need an UltraGage to monitor temps to be sure.

I am using a scan tool plugged into the OBD 2 port. More testing needed to verify any benefit from a more open grill.
