Default my rover has issues

i just aquired a 96 disco, i got a good deal, but i am new to the brand. my disco seams to misfire whenever it the rpm's hit 3k. i really havent checked the faults in it yet. just curious if there is anything i could check quickly. i am not used to workin on this type of vehicle, i can rattle off tons of info on volkswagnes but this is foreign to me. so if anyone has any ideas just let me know. thanks

My 2000 Discovery was missing. I changed the plugs and wires and the missing went away. Listen for spark sounds. With mine I could hear a spark jumping sound but I could not see the spark. It was comingfrom behind the engine atthe coil.

Take it to Autozone and have the codes read for free before you start throwing parts at it. Post them back one here and We'll steer you in the right direction. There are a couple of places for the only wires you should put on it. If you want the cheap ones from Autozone, I'll send you mine, they're only 6 months old and already shot...

Romulus.......Is that a Battle Star Galactica reference? If so, funny. My buddy's girlfriend referrs to his Disco as the stormtrooper, and mine as Darth Vader...

When my 98 discoI starting having a miss I replaced the plugs and wires. The miss went away and the car was able to pass NJ inspection.
I think the missing problem was the wires more then the plugs.
The set of wires cost around $80.

I think Romulus was a Star Trek thing...where Romulans and the blue Romulan ale came from.
