the heater lines under the hood going to the core or the one in the truck under the dash?
if under the hood, do you plan on reusing the same hose?
it has been off once already because LR uses spring clamps,
no screw clamps.
the screw clamp must be stripped, you can usually get them the break pretty easy with a screw driver from the side.
you can use an old screw driver bent in a u shape, slipped into the hose from the back, the actually sell a tool.
check were the two hose are molded together if there is any cracking,
that is where mine began to fail.

So just to clarify you are trying to remove the hoses from under the dash?
Removing the bracket at the heater core is fairly simple but the difficulty come from the screw holding the lines together near the firewall. That screw is reversed with the head facing the firewall. That's pretty much what makes the whole job difficult. I've been told you can use a pair of pliers to turn the screw from the tail end. Then you can re-install the other way around when your'e finished.

Yes. Normally if a dealership were to do this they would tell you it wouldn't matter if you had to replace the heater core or the o-rings because the dash would need to be removed.
Whatever you do. Do not bend or nick those pipes. The metal is soft and easily damaged. When i replaced my heater core I did the whole shebang by removing the dash. I later read about a method on another forum.
Basically you need to remove that bracket holding the pipes near the firewall. You then need to unbolt the main bolts holding the right side of the dash to the car. Then you can carefully bend the dash and hoses back to give you enough clearance to replace the heater core. In your case you may not have to unbolt the dash, because you do not need to remove the core. But you'll need to take that bracket off for sure.
Again this is a method I read from a guy on another forum. He's done it several times and it's what he does when he's got a leaking heater core. I haven't done it myself.

It's possible that you'll need to put more work into then that. It's been a few years since I've dug into the heater core. But I do remember those pipes being held in place with a lot of pressure. So I wouldn't expect it to be easy.
