I think your fine with your current hoses until you get back home.

You wont need any special tools, just a good 3/8" drive socket set with both metric and SAE sizes.
You can get one at Sears for $120 or so.
You already have the 1/2" breaker bar so thats good.

When you are ready just ask and I will be glad to walk you through things one step at a time.

send me your contact info, I am only a few miles from where you are located. YOu can send me a PM. There are several very good mechanics in the area. The shop that did our DII drive shaft is about a mile from where you are located, they did a great job on the rebuild. I can also give you advise on several wrecking yards in the area.
