Exclamation NEED HELP ASAP - Disco II

Hello All,

I preface this with my complete honesty for lack of knowledge of these great vehicles, but I'm in a difficult situation right now. I have a 2001 Land Rover Discovery II, this weekend while off-roading, the disco climbed up and chugged over the typical little rock hills and bumps in the woods. Had only been driving it through some semi-easy to navigate terrain when i descended down a little hill. When i tried to start accelerating up the hill, the car immediately died, the 4-way flashing emergency lights on and that was all she wrote. I thought it was overheated and gave it about 30 minutes, checked for leaks, any new damage, or to observe anything wrong. Tried to start and the engine cranks just fine but wont start the truck. I have read online that this seems like an inertia switch problem? Any ideas from fellow enthusiasts? Any suggestions? The truck is currently stuck on my buddies property where we trail ride and off road and I would hate for someone to trespass and vandalize it! Appreciate the response and feedback in advance!

I did not because I only started researching the problem when I got home because I didn’t have signal in the woods. I saw photos of it online but wasn’t sure where it was located under the hood.

First step is to grab an obdII code reader and see what faults it has. Make sure to download the rave if u do not have access to the internet so you can diagnose.

post the codes here as well, and likely someone will be able to point you in the right direction.

the inertia switch is on the firewall, on the battery side of the truck. just push the top of it.
it normally won't throw any codes, so a scanner may not be useful to you. fingers crossed that this solves the problem.
