Default Need your opinion - Rear Bumper mod

Hi folks, I've got a Discovery II in excellent condition with less than 75k miles on the odo. Looks like I will need to cut a little off of the rear quarter panels for rear bumper install (Tactical Rover). Does this detract from the vehicles value for you (if you were a buyer)?

Depends on if you're keeping the bumper or not

if the rover is currently stock, and if you plan on selling the vehicle any time soon, I wouldn't cut up any body panels... Best case, you spend longer finding an interested buyer who will pay a fraction extra of what the bumper costs.

On the other hand, I had a really hard time thinking of an answer to this question.

Depends on how much of the panel was cut out. If its for any of the aftermarket bumpers I know of that require cutting... Yes.

If you're selling, unless there was damage being hidden, I sure wouldn't do it.

This will drive everyone nuts, but I bought ours as a minivan and truck- and it has excelled in those regards, and not for off roading (at this time). As such, it would get ruled out for me as an option as I prefer unmolested machines when buying used cars.

Well. You've got the best looking bumper on the market, but this one requires that you cut (which I would instantly since you'll just bend the QP if you dip the rear at all off-roading).

Your other option would be to return the TR bumper in lieu of a TF or standard steel rear bumper that doesn't wrap as far around. You'll lose any QP protection, but you'll be able to pass it off as a more stockish look.

I bought my truck with a RTE bumper installed and I'm thankful that the QP's are already cut.
