Default new 2001 disco

Been asking a few questions lately and browsing the forum, I think I'm more confused on what to do now. I'm going to buy a 2001 disco SD with 62000 miles. No service records. Car fax says a rental company owned it for the 1st 12,000 miles.

Runs great, but has 3 amigos light on. Owner says prior to selling it he had the dealer check it out everything OK. 3 amigos went on next day. Might they have been responsible for this or is sell Full of S*&^?

There is only one key available. How many should there be? I need 2 anywhere to get another new one at a reasonable cost?

Taking it to dealer tomorrow for PPI and will have abs, TC and hill descent codes read.
Should this be included in PPI price? How much should a dealer PPI cost?

Other than a 60000 service maintenance what else should be done, and what order from most to least important should it be done? Any thing else I should have the mechanics look at prior to purchase.

Excited and don't want my emotions to make me make a bad decision.
Sorry if I repeated any questions.
Thanks in advance for your responses.

Go with your gut, if its meant to be it will be.
So sounds like they had the 3 amigos turned off hoping they would not come back on until after you bought it.

2 keys is what it is supposed to have, buy a blank off e-bay for www.atlanticbritish.com and have it cut at a locksmith.

$100 is a fair price for a inspection, $150 at the dealer.

THE first thing to do is have the front driveshaft rebuilt using greasable u-joints, do not let the dealer do it, have it done at a indie shop.
The dealer will just sell you another LR non greasable drivershaft for $800.
A shop can rebuild it for under $300.

Good luck.

At that mileage first thing I would do is rebuild/replace the front propshaft if it has not already been done. Then a replace of the cooling hoses with the updated kit from AB, also if this has not been done.

To get my low mileage 01' Disco 2 back to perfect took the above repairs, PLUS a transmission due to the propshaft failing. Well and a t-case reseal, new front and rear mains, two door seal gaskets and a clock light bulb.

But I love the truck!

62000 is low milage which is good but if it wasnt taken care of then you could be in for some heartache.I bought my 01 with 145,000 on it but it was well maintained.(knocking really hard on wood) Just take your time and really look it over.Check the antifreeze level, dipstick (see if its clean or burnt) and check for any leaks.Btw how much are they asking for it and were are you located?
