New ABS sensor - still getting fault

These cars are notorious for connector issues. There are two big connectors that are orange and grey near the expansion tank that are very problematic.
How do you splice in to the harness at the ECU? Do you cut and splice the wires going to the ECU? Scotchlock? Or pull the pins out the the connector and replace?

Cut the wires near the connector, far enough away from it to solder the new wires to.

I was afraid you were going to say that, I really hate the idea of cutting the oem wire harness...

Well, I rewired the left rear from the sensor all the to just after the connection under the hood (I bought too short a piece of wire at Lowes - shielded 2 conductor). Same code. I guess the next step is by a longer piece of wire and go all the way to the ECU, or try the later model ECU with the more fault tolerant algorithm.

But... I am out of time fooling with this truck - accepted a job in Lynchburg VA and won't have time to fool with this during the relocation - look for the truck sale post in the classifieds section.
