Default New Discovery II, need help on where to start with issues?

We just bought a 2001 Land rover Disovery II with ~90K on it. It is in great shape and I knew it had issues when we bought it, I just dont know where to start and what codes could be causing other codes. I pulled:
P0174 -Bank 2 system lean
P0171 -Bank 1 system lean
P1174 -Fuel trim adaption bank 1 malfunction
P1171 - Unknown
P1300 - Unknown / possibly CKP sensor?
P0300 - Random multiple cylinder misfire
P0733 - Gear 3 ratio incorrect
P0308 - Cyllinder 8 misfire
P0304 - Cyllinder 4 misfire
P0306 - Cyllinder 6 misfire
P0302 - Cyllinder 2 misfire

It has a rear main leak and valve cover leaks. It run very rough after sitting for about 30 seconds then smooths out. When you rev it up it sputters and misses on higher RPMs. It smells like fuel at the exhaust pipe - no coolant smell. I pulled some plugs and they are black and smell like fuel also. The previous owner just had it serviced at the dealer for new plugs and wires. I believe they are Bosch plugs and some cheap looking 7mm wires (which I know I have to upgrade).
Does one coil pack feed these 4 misfiring cylinders and are any codes related to each other? I just need a starting point to start the repairs. Thanks in advance.

I would start with replacing your O2 sensors. When I bought my truck, the PO did the same except the coil was done too. With your codes and your mileage, the O2's are just about due anyway, i would replace them. I used the Bosch plug n play, no universal and my rough idle went away and gas mileage greatly improved.

Good luck and welcome to LR,

Default welcome..

welcome, i agree with shane as my daughters 2000 DII is due for all 4 O2 sensores, plugs and wires. Drives great but her gas really sucks and rough idel at stop. She has 130,000 miles on it, otherwise runs smooth and is actually faster than my 2004 DII.

I would also open another bank account and start stuffing money away as they eat it more than gas...

Good luck and welcome to the short bus... Chris

I will try O2 sensors first and maybe the coils. Definately plugs and wires. What would cause the
P0733 - Gear 3 ratio incorrect
P1174 -Fuel trim adaption bank 1 malfunction
P1171 - Unknown
P1300 - Unknown / possibly CKP sensor?
Would these be in relation to what I am planning so far or do they have different causes?

Also does anyone know the part numbers for front and rear o2 sensors. I am finding many bosch OEM numbers. Not quite sure which ones I need. Thx again!

I would also check the MAF sensor and make sure it is kooked up and a good connection. The O2 sensors will be a good service regardless of the symptom since it is about time for them anyways. I would be really suprised if the dealer just did the service and the plugs were already black, probably they just got a quote for the service and said that they needed them and never did the repair. As a younger man I saw paperwork that looked like it had just been serviced but after I bought the car and then looked closer it was the estimate list of all that needed to be done. I learned that lesson real quick.

Let us know what else you find out.
